Admittedly it is hard to describe a person simply with words, but it is a privilege to be able to feel what they feel while doing so, so here it goes.
My name is Chelsea, but you can call me Seashell, most people do. I am a McGill and Ryerson University Graduate. I pride myself on having a healthy lifestyle through fitness, nutrition and happiness. I hold an immense amount of love for the people who have stood by me for better or for worse.
That being said, I want to now take the time to tell you all about how dreams can come true with the right amount of passion, perseverance and persistence.
I have been putting pen to paper for as long as I can remember. As an emotional adept individual, writing down my thoughts helped me both learn and understand them and myself. I have always had a fascination with the past and at times I even believe that I have temporal dysphoria (the feeling of belonging in a different era than your own).
That is particularly why I write on a typewriter and why I am considered to be an old soul by some.
I truly appreciate the relationship one forms with their typewriter. Yes, I understand how retro- progressive that sounds, however there is an unprecedented beauty that surrounds this writing tool. An energy that has been nullified by the mundane materialization of the internet. It holds no distractions, it is not electrical, there are no backspaces and no spell-check. It allows for the word vomit that are my thoughts to be tangibly expressed with no alteration. There is an affinity to such a process, a clarity I may even add.
And that is how this all began, with a typewriter and a girl who had something to say.
